Spontaneity

It started off with "I have a 5 day block leave. My one and only block leave that I'm allowed to leave Singapore before I ORD."

And then before we know it, we were off to Bangkok. Not instantly of course, but this trip planned instantly when we had the conversation above.

Happy that I had a nice getaway, but sad because it wasn't enough. My time there was too short, everything had to be rushed, from point A to B.

Nonetheless, this mini trip made plentiful of beautiful memories to be added to this journey of ours.

Warning: No nice photos were taken because we were either too busy eating or shopping.

The legendary magnum cafe. Magnum madness. Freshly made magnums, with brownies, drizzled with white chocolate, marshmallows with pistachios. Too good.

Failed couple shot with matchy singlets from Phuket trip last year.

At the peak of Bangkok - Baiyoke's Sky viewing gallery

Chatuchuk

Random tuktuk ride to Khao San (Which was disappointing because there's nothing much there)

We love street food. Totally in love with their pad thai and thai iced tea.

I can't wait for more trips like this! :)

April

Before I know it, April is coming to an end.

Had a really good start to April because Chestnut came back from India after three long, painful weeks.

Not to forget, a family trip to HK, Macau & Zhuhai.

弟弟 and I.

Ruins of St Paul in Macau. Second time there and never got tired of its architectural magnificence.

Causeway Bay @ Hong Kong

April was also pleasant with @SeriouslyGD (a.k.a Grace) attempting to surprise us from Perth during her Easter break. Keyword: attempted. Hahaha kind of expected her arrival, somehow. But her presence over dinner was something I missed.
Glad to have you back even if it's seeing you for that few hours, or so.

During C's block leave we:

cycled

 had many, many lazy days

and a splendid relaxing weekend to recharge for the week

And a picture of Perry after his shower to end off. Too cute and fuglyyy hehe.

Dear self,

I've been contented with my life and what I have. But sometimes I can't help but to make that little bit of comparison and sometimes I wonder to myself "I think I deserve a little bit of that." or "I wonder how does it feels like to receive a pleasant surprise in xxx's shoes."

I can't help, really, to not compare. Some blame the social media for setting up expectations, some blame others who spoil the market. I have been blaming both the former and the latter but in the end, I too, have myself to blame - for being so unappreciative and not being contented enough with what I have. Call it greed, call it demanding, but I have always wanted to have a life of abundance in terms of every single thing.

Looking back, yes. I WAS contented but I guess as time passes, things change, demands change. They also say, every individual is unique and you cannot make comparisons, but I cannot help but to look at everyone around me being pleasantly surprised one by one, and I'm just here waiting, and waiting, and waiting for something miraculous to happen.

I can just continue waiting...

Maaarch.

Finally over and done with Uni Year 2! Good riddance!

Spent my two weeks bumming and lazing around because I thought this break was pretty well deserved after crazy amount of time spent dedicated on revision and more revision. Feeling so guilt-free and carefree. I have never felt this way in a long time because I've always been drowned with assignments even during my short uni breaks.

We rarely get to have C's dad's car unless he's away on a business trip and we were lucky to have it on our anniversary, as well as the last weekend of March. The convenience and fuss-free transport.... def love being chauffeured around :) Perfect way to end our Feb...

Who eats like that and who drives like that...?

...and also the perfect way to start our March even though we'll be away for three long weeks and he'll be stuck in a godforsaken place in Babina, India. Glad to spend C's block leave with him before he leaves.

After a huge commotion during the transition of Feb-Mar, he surprised me with a couple's massage & spa. Words could not describe how I felt at that moment and thinking back, I'm still feeling so happy about this pleasant surprise.

We swam.

We bummed around.

We feasted.

We played.

I cannot wait for the third week of March to arrive already! Can't wait for my family trip to Macau & HK. It's been long since I been there. The thought of just shopping and feasting with the perfect weather excites me. Till then!

First.

The past official 366 days (2012 was a leap year) taught me a lot of things. Taught me to give and take, to be more patient, sensitive and to love more. I could go all the way back when we first dated 1 year 8 months ago when you accompanied me to Mount Elizabeth hospital to get my spine checked, patiently waiting for me to take me X-rays tests and whatnot, then had a simple lunch and hung around town.

Could never see this day coming but it came, eventually. And I'm proud of us. Thank you for loving me when I least deserved it.

It was a simple affair. Alfresco candlelight dining by the breezy coast at Privé as we admired pretty houses and yachts, exchanged letters and gifts, having a nice meal. And perhaps dressing up for the occasion since we always went casual most of the time.

Took a stroll by the bay and enjoying the breeze. Desserts after, at a quaint and cozy café Wimbly Lu which took us forever to locate and got lost in the car for a good 20 minutes. A slice of blackout cake and the signature lava cake were our sweet treats that evening.

And before we know it, we got home and fell asleep right after we got back. Simple and sweet :)
